OptimumU Health Score and Wellness Graph
The Health Score and Wellness Graph are visualizations of your progress. They’re designed to give you a metric for your success, by comparing you, not to other people, but to yourself over time. It’s up to you what you want to analyze. Body fat? Mood? Sleep? Food quality? Steps? Exercise? We’ve got the data and we help you apply it to your decisions. Because if you can’t measure it, you can’t manage it.
Nudges are personal reminders and notifications that are uniquely designed to keep you on track.
- Savor the “good.” Most people notice the pleasure in special moments, like a birth or a vacation. Everyday pleasures, on the other hand, can pass by without much notice. Be mindful of those times too.
- Monitoring changes in waist circumference over time may be helpful, in addition to measuring BMI, since it can provide an estimate of increased abdominal fat, even when BMI remains constant.
- Community and environment matter. Even if you can’t move from where you live, you can live well where you move.
Fasting/Time-Restricted Eating Interface
Time-restricted eating (TRE) may trigger some beneficial health effects, such as reduced fat mass, increased lean muscle mass, and reduced inflammation. We do not know everything about food and how it affects our bodies, but what we can say with confidence is that snacking after your last meal adds calories, and that can lead to increased weight. This TRE feature helps you stop the snacking.

You know your mood can affect what you eat or whether or not you squeeze that workout in. But how does it impact other aspects of your life? When you’re stressed, do you have trouble sleeping? When you’re happy, do you have more energy? Does skipping workouts make you feel irritable? Use Mood Trends to gain more insight into why you feel the way you do.
Food Quality Tracking
You know that the food you eat has a significant impact on your health and wellness, but it’s not all about calories—quality is as important, if not more, than quantity. OptimumU helps you pay attention to the big picture, without the tedious tracking of every bite.
OptimumU Food Tracking helps you record the quality of your food and factors it into your OptimumU Score. Your food journal is also monitored, scored, and nudged based on your unique food choices. This helps you see the correlation between the foods you’re eating and other aspects of your well-being, such as sleep, activity, mood, etc.
Our ideal food plan is organic, (if possible), and rich in fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and low-fat dairy products. It also includes some fish, poultry, legumes, low in sodium, and a small number of nuts and seeds. We also recommend limiting foods and beverages that are high in saturated fat and sugar. By focusing on high-quality, nutrient-dense foods, you create a diet that is naturally high in fiber and low in sugar, cholesterol, and total fat.
As you cut out added sugars and sodium, and focus on increasing intake of vegetables, fruits, whole grains, and legumes, you’re filling yourself with essential nutrients like protein, fiber, and healthy fats, which can stabilize your blood sugar and keep you feeling full longer. Eliminating processed junk food is another important step toward living a healthy life. By making good food choices, you reduce your risk of developing excess belly fat, something that is linked to high blood pressure, heart disease, and obesity.
OptimumU Food Tracking makes it easy to log what you’re eating. (It won’t always be a perfect match, so just choose the category that best describes your overall food choices for the day.)
Mostly vegetables, fruits, legumes, nuts and seeds, purple or sweet potatoes
Some vegetables, fruits, legumes, nuts, seeds, meats
White flour pasta, white flour bread, a few vegetables, meats
Processed frozen dinners, heavily processed prepared foods
Dairy, fast food, sweets, soda
Deep fried foods, sweets, trans fats, artificial sweeteners, overcooked/charred meats, processed meats
It’s not that calories don’t matter, but the more important thing is that you prioritize getting nutritious whole foods that can satisfy your hunger while doing your mind and body good.
